Fit and performance are as advertised. Took a little work to fit and free float the barrel, but the action fit correctly and snug the way I like it.

Fits like a sng glove and is MUCH MORE ridgade compared to the factory plastic

I bought this stock because a friend suggested I try it out. When I received it, I immediately loved the color and style. I dabble in gunsmithing . I am not a seasoned pro. I tried placing the weapon in and it would not go. After several test fits and a little sanding it fell right into place. Fit like a glove. Thanks for a beautiful product.

Needed to replace the cheap flimsy stock on my savage Axis in 270 win. Boyd's made one and Optics planet had the charcoal colored one in stock in the Prarie Hunter version. Order one and also ordered the metal magazine retainer lug. The action dropped right in and the screws lined up perfectly. It was about a 10 minute job. The barrel remains free floating. There was no inletting to be done. The recoil lug lined up properly and I was at the range later that afternoon. Had it sighted in and was back home for dinner. I am very pleased with the looks of the rifle now, and the rigidity of the stock made a big improvement in the accuracy. The original stock would flex and actually contact the barrel while you were gripping the rifle in order to shoot. This has made a big difference in the handling and accuracy of the rifle. I've also done some trigger work to remove the creep and side play on the original trigger.

The stock arrived in perfect condition. even with a M-Carbo trigger spring kit the action and barrel dropped in without a problem. This is my second Boyds stock and i will purchase my 3rd very soon. OpticsPlanet and Boyds are an unbeatable combo.
