Remington model 10 replacement stock

by John, Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on May 4, 2024
As stated in the item description, this will require some custom fitting. I know this shotgun is 110 years old, and there may have been some variations over the years with stock fitting. When I first put it on, the wood was thicker than the old one, and I had to sand it down to meet the metal for a smooth joining surface. Also the cuts inside of the stock weren’t deep enough to allow the action to cycle, so I need to use a dremel to cut more wood from the inside to make the action work. I am happy that someone is still making these stocks for the older shotguns, as mine is cracked and unsafe to shoot, but it would be nice to have a plug and play stock that didn’t require fine tuning to make it work.
Pros:
  • It is a new stock for a 110 year old gun
Cons:
  • If you are not comfortable with custom wood fitting it might be a big job for you to make it fit
Best Used for:
  • Making an old shotgun functional again

Doee not fit & cracked

by Joe, Verified Owner from NE, United States Written on May 10, 2023
This does not fit my model 10. The inside dimensions are completely wrong on the left side of the stock with the relief for the action cut completely at the wrong angle. I thought I could adjust it with a file only to then find out the action was contacting the bottom of the stock on the right side. This put pressure on the stock & cracked it. Optics planet won't take it back since it was mounted & damaged. Boyds won't take it back since it wasn't ordered through them. Now I have a $100 paperweight.
