Great stock but bare wood
Great looking stock and a beautiful upgrade from a beat up or poly stock. Keep in mind you will need ALL the components like sling swivels, liner with screws (don't forget the liner screw tool to tighten),rear butt plate with screws (I went to a rubber one to keep positioned on shoulder). I ordered t...

Needs hardware, not a drop in stock.
The stock is beautiful but it doesn't include any hardware if you are switching from a synthetic stock. You will need a stock liner and associated screws. The buttplate and its screws are also not included.
Perfect Fit for your SA synthetic Stock
Nice grain patterns in a quality walnut wood. You will have to work wood down around butt plate and for end plate and do final sanding and finish. All internal work is done for you , so just drop in al parts.
Pros:
- Nice wood
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Springfield armory M1A

Boyds Makes A Good M14/M1A Stock
Boyds makes a good M14/M1A stock. It has a great fit with my JRA M14 rifle without any modifications whatsoever, and the solid walnut has a beautiful grain to it as well. I would buy this product again.

Beautiful piece, but not drilled out well
The stock is beautiful and looks amazing on my gun, but I had to re-drill a couple of holes to make it fit right.
Pros:
- Looks amazing
Cons:
- Not drilled correctly

Boyd's Walnut M1A stock
A nice piece of walnut with nice grain, at a great price. I hand sanded and applied 4 coats of tung oil. I had to do the slightest bit of fitting; the stock liner would not quite insert up into the stock near the rear of the liner where it needed to be to allow the liner screws to line up with the holes on both sides. I had to remove the smallest amount with a very sharp 1/2" wood chisel. It is easy to see where the modification needed to be. The piece was very small at the back edge of the cutout and was a sharp wedge shaped piece maybe a 1/16" tall by 3/8" long piece

Flawed Manufacturing Holes for Sling Off Center
The stock seems superbly nice, however the rear sling ring mounting hole is not centered.
That means the butt of the stock is not centered.
May present accuracy concerns using a military sling.
To some is may not matter, but it does to me.

excellent quality.
The fit and finish of this stock is admirable. After installing the liner and screws in the stock, the action didn't just drop in. It fit with such precision,it gives new meaning to hand and glove.

Walnut stock
This is a fine piece of wood...nice grain...perfect fit on my Springfield Scout. The stock came without metal hardware, simply removed the metal from a GI wood stock I had, touched up the pieces here and there with cold blue and put them on the new wood.Real happy with the look and feel.

Yes it's worth it
The stock is of excellent quality the grain was immaculate I did have to do a slight amount of fitting because I pulled all of my parts off of a synthetic stock so I put a rubber butt pad instead of a metal butt pad on there but a little bit of fitting and you'll be fine I highly recommend
