3.8 stars and i'll tell you why - Bravo Company MFG MK2 Recoil Mitigation System - Mod 1

All components are top quality and the buffer is interchangeable with Vltor A5. If you like BCM for their reputation and you love the A5 system, this IS the kit for you. All my 16" uppers can run the T2 weight buffer with light powered Wolf/PMC .223 range ammo (556 runs fine too, just a bit more recoil). I prefer the Sprinco green action spring but the included spring is a great mil-spec M16 rifle length spring. The castle nut has nice and snug turning threads. The end plate has a QD port but I don't use it. It did have some machine marks along the edge that other brands typically do not have but it's a minor gripe. The steel staked extremely well. Everything installed perfectly and it functions flawlessly. Here's my major issue and it may not apply to you. 8 positions are nice but on the 7 position Vltor A5 receiver extension (RE) the notches are spaced to mil-spec. This BCM RE is spaced closer together and the Mapgpul STR doesn't collapse as completely as with the Vltor RE. I also prefer to use a SB Tactical limit spacer to keep the fully extended position a notch or two short. For me, it's awesome to QUICKLY go from fully collapsed to properly extended at the perfect length of pull without having to futz. These inserts do not line up on the BCM MK2 system so it extends half a notch more. Not a fan! BCM owns the Kincel/Vltor A5 patent. Why change the spacing? I have to deduct a star for that.
