Works as described. Similar in performance to the Vltor A5 system. Well packaged and shipped.

I have read/viewed a great deal of reviews on the various iterations of the A5 buffer system. Those reviews are decidedly mixed. Supposedly, the A5 buffer system (of which the MK2 is the BCM offering) with it's longer spring and buffer tube are supposed to "expand the operating envelope" of the AR15 buffer system to something in-between the A2 (full length) and A4 (Carbine) buffer systems. My application is an AR15 pistol w/ Rosco K9 5.56 11.5" 1:7 Patrol length barrel that I shoot 100% suppressed. I am early into this new build with very few rounds down range, thus far, other than my optic zero and gas tuning exercises. I can offer two initial observations:
1) The new MK2 buffer system does seem to soften the recoil impulse and reduce muzzle rise (relative to the original H2 buffer and Sprinco flatwire spring), but perhaps just barely perceptibly so. ~10%??
2) Far more significant in reducing recoil/muzzle rise is reducing the gas to the BCG in the first place! My pistol is outfitted with a SA adjustable (bleed-off) gas block, and bleeding off more gas has made a far more significant impact in this regard. ~30%??
So do I recommend it? If you're trying to squeeze every last smidgen of recoil impulse and muzzle rise out of your AR that you fire mostly off-hand (e.g. "fighting rifle"), then yes, I'd do it. OTOH, if you typically fire prone off bi-pod or otherwise supported positions, I doubt you'll notice any benefit. YMMV.
Pros:
- Slight reduction in felt recoil/muzzle rise
Cons:
- More left over AR15 parts accumulated in your waste bin
Best Used for:
- Fighting rifle and/or competition

Not much to say. Great quality as expected. The buffer is super quiet and the qd end plate is a most for me.

Works like a charm. Super easy to replace, and a very good upgrade. Makes it’s virtually no recoil. Buy it, you’ll thank yourself later.

Does a really good job at reducing the amount of felt recoil and also takes away that springy/ squeaky sound in the buffer tube. I use this combined with a muzzle break, and the felt recoil is definitely reduced, and it’s much easier to keep my site on target. For the price it’s definitely well worth it

After a ton of research I purchased and installed this on a Aero Lower paired with a 14.5 pin and weld BCM MK2 upper. Mid length gas system. I used the T2 Buffer weight... I did a before and after comparison also had a 16 inch carbine to compare back to back with. There is definitely a difference in recoil but i would not call it drastic... Maybe 10 percent better.... Follow up shots are quicker especially compared to the 16 inch carbine.. I ran 55 grain all the way up to 77 grain with no issues unsuppressed. I have not ran this combo suppressed yet. What I did notice is that the rifle runs smoother it just feels better and it translates into being able to run the rifle faster. Whether or not its a placebo effect does not matter to me. I for sure can run that rifle faster than any other 5.56 I own....So 5 stars for me.

I needed to replace a commercial tube and buffer with milspec parts. I decided on the MK2 system with a heavier (mod 1) buffer to handle the stiffer loads I use for midrange competition. The fit and finish of the tube and buffer are excellent and leave nothing to be desired. It functions perfectly, even cycling the lightest and heaviest of my ladder test loads effortlessly. Overall a great high quality choice. Much happier with my 20" RRA now.
