Purchased 8/19/2024. Purchased this for a retro build bought a while ago. Have been waiting for awhile for these to become available again, as they had seemed to have disappeared from seen.
I'm guessing that this might be a slightly more recent production run, as they have "Colt's" logo on them, and last I remembered, I had never seen Colt's name anywhere on these as this was a venture of Brownell's, but I may be wrong with this presumption.
The glass is pretty darn clear and the variable zoom is great for the form factor in which this is. The build quality is great, and feels like an overall solid optic.
I've read the bad reviews on these in the past, and perhaps some even not so old reviews on this optic, however I can not speak to any of these shortfalls. I'm pretty happy with this purchase as of this moment. Nothing bad to report.
...yet...
Pros:
- Retro reborn with updated internals and refined new aged production methods

This is an exact replica of the Colt AR-15 carry handle scope. Glass is very clear and scope looks and feels of high quality. I recommend and would buy it again if needed.

I would not recommend this to anyone! I bought this scope around April of 2023, and Just went to the range on 11-5-23 shot 30 rounds of 556 and the cross hairs just broke!!! For something that was $300+ I'd expect something that would work, before it broke I was trying to move the cross hairs up and they wouldn't move.

Looking for any scope for an AR15 carry handle really limits your choices. You can buy those bases that allow use of the iron sights, but they put your scope up even higher with the scope rings. I have the Colt M4 carbine with an Armalite carry handle, so going retro really looks good on this. Besides, this is one of the smallest scopes made, anything standard size looks way too big on a carbine. 4X is just enough magnification and that is what the military uses, so this scope makes good sense. Not too many guys are going to drop a grand to put a Trijicon on which is the current military choice. This scope is simple in features and even has the elevation click knob that adjusts for 100 out to 500 yards. Pretty cool instead of squinting at scope reticle crosshair hash marks. The optic quality is good and clear with decent eye relief. The standard crosshairs are rather thick at the point of aim, I wish they were even thinner for when I am going for maximum accuracy. But once you zero this in, it holds true and you can bang out bullseyes all day. Now why did I give only four stars? That silly mounting system is the biggest joke I ever saw...what idiot dreamed that up? A round screw-om thumbnut would anchor it more solidly and look way better. Finding one of those in black with the correct thread size is tough, so I went to Ace Hardware and got a simple metal nut. This clamps the scope to the carry handle with no movement and some Locktite ensures it won't come loose. That is all...

Sighted it in today and it’s very accurate. It was extremely easy to install. Great genuine looking alternative for an old school pre-ban Colt AR-15 BAR. Purchased to reach out and touch coyote on my 10 acre ranch. 2-300 yards max.
Pros:
- Looks great
- Easy to mount
- Very accurate

I haven't had a chance to sight it in yet but the glass is clear and focused in for my eyesight easily. As long as it will stay zeroed I'd say it's a decent buy for the money. A little heavy. Seems well made.

Mine has a Crooked reticle. This is super annoying. It is Difficult to put on the carry handle upper. It is Not very stable but at least recoil is mild. It definitely looks cool and the glass is decent but Basically only for looks on a retro ar15 build.

I had a friend tell me to get this scope for my AR. It was the easiest thing to install that I have ever done. It took less than 3 minutes to install and when I went to the range it took 10 minutes to sight it in and put 5 rounds in a silver dollar at 100 yards. Thank for a great product...
