I am writing this review about a year after purchasing this knife. It had been a good knife all that time, the edge it comes with isnt particularly sharp but you can easily put a fine edge on it with a cheap sharpening device.
The spring in the knife broke today. Sometimes it would get gummed up and I would just clean the hinge area and oil it, get all the excess oil out, and it would work like brand new. Recently it had been not opening all the way so I went to clean it.
I was working my cleaning solvent into the hinge by opening and closing the knife, and all of a sudden the pressure to close the knife went away. Then I noticed I had to actually pull the blade to open it.
The spring broke. And since it was the only thing keeping the knife closed, I will now have to use the safety if I ever want to carry it. You can still whip it open if you want to, but it is rather depressing when you dont nail it just right and the blade doesnt make it all the way haha.
It is a good budget knife. Worth the money, but this knife is just to get you by until you get a better knife. If that is what youre looking for, just SOMETHING to have until you feel more comfortably buying an expensive knife, this is probably the best you can get.
Do not expect to use this knife every day for the rest of your life.
