It works right.
There are 3 options that I found for a scope mount for a Browning 22 semi-auto rifle. I first tried the Weaver. The price was right and you have a choice of many weaver style rings. The Weaver mount does not come far enough back over the receiver to allow for proper eye relief. I sent it back.

Will buy Leopold base.
You need to have a sight pusher to remove the leaf sight. The Leopold base allows retaining the leaf site.
Does not require Browning rings. Can use other rimfire scope rings.
Pros: Nice finish
Cons: requires removing leaf sight

This scope rail fits the gun perfectly and is rock solid. Looks good with a factory low profile feel.

New part for an old design
I prefer the old design better. It was slimmer, curved on top, and graceful in shape. Kind of like the Browning it goes on. Now if you have one of the last ones made, with the bull barrel, it will go just fine and have that HD look. I had to have the top milled and paint it to allow my scope mount to fit. From where it says Browning, to the back end. It doesn't have that look I wanted but it's functional and I was able to mount my scope on it. It does clear the receiver when I turn it to take the gun down, but it's close, so if you get one, be very careful taking it apart and putting it back together.

American made
I was given a Weaver cantilever base that I used for a few years. It never felt natural. I finally broke down and got the Browning. What a difference having something that is engineered for one of the finest .22s makes. It brought the scope back 2". I don't have to worry about scratching anything when I disassemble the gun. Browning has chosen to have it made in america. That cost more. Stop complaining and support the workers.

Browning for Browning
This is the part made by the rifle manufacturer so the fit us perfect and appearance is great. The only thing is the scope ring slots had to be widened to receive the Browning scope ring I ordered to go with it. After fitting the rings it works and looks great.

The Great Scope Base for the Browning SA-22
This one costs a bit more, but it works perfectly and installs easily.
The advantage of this mount is that it allows the scope to be mounted far enough back for better head position while using. I have read some reviews that says you cannot remove the barrel from a SA-22 with this mount installed. For me this was not the case. I have taken to placing a piece of paper between the mount and the receiver of the rifle so that I don't scratch the rifle's finish.

Great name brand product
This mount is great and very easy to install. Comes with two screws for install. The product itself is great but the shipping time was a little lengthy. I called ahead to make sure the product was in stock and on hand and I was told it was. It took approx. 4 days from time of order to the time it left the facility and about a week and half before I received the order. Other than that great product and great place to do business.

I PUT MINE ON THE SA-22 "SHORT ONLY" MODEL.
IF YOU JUST RECENTLY ORDERED OR OBTAINED YOUR SA-22, GIVE IT AN HONEST TRY WITH THE OPEN SIGHTS BEFORE INVESTING IN AN OPTIC SETUP. THE IRON SIGHTS ARE FANTASTIC, AND THE RIFLE IS A VERY TIGHT GROUPER.

browning sa 22 scope base
The first base I got was missing the screws to mount it. I called and this was taken care of. The base works great and looks great. I did have to sand the bottom down so I could take my rifle down, like you should be able to. I didn't understand this, but now it works fine. I have a grade III and maybe the metal is a little thicker is the reason it did not work at first, but I'm very happy with it now.

Browning 22 SA Base
I had wasted my money on other base options ! This is the Browning base made for the Browning 22 SA ,and the only one ,that I am aware of ,that truly allows the scope to be mounted far enough back to promote the proper eye relief !
