I just received my safe lighting kit made by Browning and sold by Optic Planet.

As in all of the other reviews I have read ther are flaws. Many have to do with the mounting system and the losseness of the clamps that holds the LED light sticks.

This light set is awesome, but you have to have an imagination to properly use them. First off, I did away with the normal velcro mounting sytem that was provided. I used double sided Gorilla tape, and that solved the problem. You have to make sure that when you stick it, it is where you want it, once the Gorilla double sided tape is used it will securely hold the light strip. YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE THAT THE STRIP IS WHERE YOU WANT IT. Once the Golloria tape is used, if you move it it WILL pull the cloth from the safe.

As far as the looseness of the mounting clips, I simply used scotch tape on the light stripes to tighten the holding.

Then I used the Gorilla double sided tape to mount the strips and control module inside the safe, and everything works as it should.

Once I used the aforementioned methods, the light system is GREAT. The motion detection system works as directed.

I really like the ability to rotat the light strips to provide the light where needed

My lights did not function properly. The lights flicker on and off on their own. They seem to be of very poor quality. I will be returning them as soon as possible and look for a better quality option.

I purchased the Browning LED light kit as an add on for the LED light kit that came with my Browning gun safe. The light kit is well made and does a great job of lighting the gun safe. I would recommend to anyone with a gun safe that wants a safe lighting source.

For the price you would expect a little more. Couple of things - The quality of the lights are not so great. I had to use tape to give them a tight fit. Second, there should have been additional lights. Again the money spent you would expect more.

This product is a fail. The adhesive on the clips used to secure the product inside my safe failed after one week. I have a large safe (Superior 50-gun) and the wiring in this safe is too short and there are not enough light bar connecting cables, nor are the supplied cables long enough for the application. The illumination level is insufficient for the safe. Lastly, the kit feels cheap. The connectors easily come apart, the hook-and-loop on the clips is installed crooked, plastic back plate for the control module does not have the internal strength to hold the assembly together, and the LED's are too few. The quality of the components does not reflect the price point, as one can buy a lighting kit from Ikea for less than half the price that will do twice the job.

I have contacted Optics Planet to try for a refund, despite this being installed for a week. This product is junk and should be avoided.

Works well and was easy to install. Puts good light though out the safe.
Pros: bright, adjustable lights
Cons: should have a 2 min auto off timer, 60 secs is too short
