JEFF's Review of Browning Trail Cameras Spec Ops Advantage W/2" Viewing Screen

I have bought 7 Browning trail cameras, various models. Of those seven, 5 are broken. The reason I bought so many is that I purchased 3 originally and was very happy with how they performed. So I bought 4 more after a year. What went wrong? On one, it was clearly sucking batteries very quickly and then was very spotty in taking pictures. I knew that because I actually saw deer and pigs at a food plot, then checked the camera to see they didn't show up. Putting in new batteries didn't solve the problem. Another one just simply stopped working. Another one had the battery compartment slipping out. 2 more suffer from faulty on/off switches. They outlasted the warranty, though. In my opinion, Browning makes garbage and I will no longer buy their products. If you get one, pay careful attention to the switches. You will notice they are cheaply made. My name is Jeff Salsieder. I live in Lawton, OK. Anyone who doubts the veracity of this report can contact me and I will show you the one I didn't throw in the trash -- for proof. I called Browning and left a message. No response.
Pros:
  • good pics
Cons:
  • Seriously lacking in quality and durability
Best Used for:
  • 1-2 years then be prepared for failure
