The brunton 70p is an excellent compass - Brunton Watersports Marine Dash Mount Black Compass

I have a Wilderness Systems Tempest 170 kayak which has a molded in recess for the 70P. Installation was simple but the guide and instructions would have made a more challenging installation possible. The compass is very stable and easy to read in rough conditions and it is a high quality piece. You need a recess to mount it flush since the globe protrudes above and below the mounting plate. I am very happy with the compass and in all honesty, OpticsPlanet had the best price by far so this really worked out.
Pros: Ease of installation, easy to read, stable, quality construction
Cons: Would have liked a rubber gasket between the housing and my kayak hull
