Excellent piece of precision equipment. This instrument can be adapted to the personal preferences of the user. It can be read from either end using the white or black arrows of the needle. This instrument can gain accurate azimuth measurements for landmarks up to 45 degrees above or 15 degrees below the plain of the user.
This instrument also includes an inclinometer which allows the user to measure declination in either degrees or percentage grade. This feature is not only useful for the surveyor but the navigator can use the instrument for estimating height of a target landmark. The instrument also includes a handy trig chart on the cover which gives the sine and tangent of degree measurements to aid in height, triangulation and range calculations.
I would unreservedly recommend this instrument to anyone who wants a quality accurate tool for navigation or survey work.
