Most Helpful Positive Review Great Little Scope
I just got this scope for wildlife viewing and birding in the Canadian Rockies. So far after two outings, it has proven to be a great addition to my birding toolbox. The wide field of view at 12x power makes finding the subject easy and then zooming in to full 36x power is fairly easy. I find tha...

Most Helpful Negative Review False Advertising
The Optics Planet advertisement clearly states a 205ft field of view at 1000 yards. At the lowest magnification (whatever it really is) I measured 134ft. Nice compact spotter

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on March 12, 2010
Good clarity and zoom, compact and easy to use, seems like good quality. Better glass (BAK-4) than most in price range. Didn't come w/ tripod or hard case but has soft case and lens covers. You'll need a tripod. Eye relief at higher zooms not so good for me w/ eyeglasses.
Pros: small, good clarity
Cons: no tripod, not best eye relief for glasses wearer

Great Little Scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from OR, United States Written on July 6, 2009
I really needed an inexpensive, very lightweight, easy to carry scope to supplement other equipment I carry (bins, camera) on informal daily birding trips when lugging the larger scopes simply wouldn't do. This is perfect for my needs and the image quality is not discernably different from other small 50mm scopes my friends carry that cost 3-4 times the price!
Pros: lightweight; good image quality at 40x and lower; compact
Cons: not ED glass
