Buyer beware: brunton adc pro is a piece of junk - Brunton ADC Pro Altimeter Barometer Compass ADC-PRO

I purchased the ADC PRO 3 years ago only to have it fail on a misty day. Seems the claim of being waterproof was not true (check the IPX Rating) not even mist proof. Brunton offered a lifetime replacement so when I reached out to customer service they asked me to send it in and they promptly sent me another. The new one never really functioned properly as I compared readings with other weather data readings on multiple devices. I used it twice in the field and the ADC began to eat batteries by flipping through screens till battery gave up. Brunton sent me another and at this point I was not even interested in using it for my outdoor classes because two out of two failed and I also could not trust the data it provided. This third one never saw the outside of anything but the package and when the battery died the ADC PRO died also. Screen was blank with new battery,, battery was checked and powered Suunto Core watch just fine. Reached out to Brunton customer service and was told they changed lifetime warranty to just one year from purchase, their customer service rep told me to register my ADC on their website. in order to register any Brunton product you must upload a photo of receipt or product cannot be registered. I reached back to customer service explaining that no paperwork was ever sent with any of the replacement devices so I am not able to register device even though it had been less than one year. His response to me was, "That is exactly right, you cannot register a product without proof of purchase." At the end of the day I had 3 devices that functioned 3 different ways, none of witch functioned properly, only to be told by Brunton Customer Service that I was out of luck. Would not bother me so much but it was $200 and I am not in the habit of just throwing money in the trash. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE BRUNTON ADC-PRO AS IT IS A PIECE OF JUNK!
