What has worked well for me in using this particular bore sighting kit was the addition of a cleaning patch. I placed a clean patch over the bore then inserted the appropriate sized arbor firmly into place. Doing this method achieves several results, it protects the bore, secures the bore sight scope in the proper position, and allows for a more positive zeroing session.
