Most Helpful Positive Review Best kit for the money.
What has worked well for me in using this particular bore sighting kit was the addition of a cleaning patch. I placed a clean patch over the bore then inserted the appropriate sized arbor firmly into place. Doing this method achieves several results, it protects the bore, secures the bore sight scop...

Most Helpful Negative Review Piece of Junk!
The arbors are loose and non-adjustable. I took this kit back an hour after I opened the box and found that the arbors can damage your rifle bore. Spend the extra money and get a good sighting kit like the Bushnell with expandable arbors. Pros: None Cons: Will damage your rifle bore

Very low quality product

by Jonathan Ramos, from TX, United States Written on February 2, 2022
So the arbors have absolutely no grabbing power. When you shove them into the barrel they bend so far down that they spin and don’t stay in place. Save your money and buy bushnell bore sighter. Very disappointed with the product and the return policy,

Not for high mounted scopes!!!! Such as on an AR-15

by Chad, from TN, United States Written on May 9, 2020
Good bore sighter for the money, I had one of their earlier models for about 15 years and it worked flawlessly! It works great for normal (classic) hunting rifles. The people who are giving negative reviews either didn't read the instructions or didn't read the item description, and were just looking for a cheap bore sighter.
Pros:
  • Price
  • simplicity
  • Ease Of Use
Cons:
  • none I experienced
Best Used for:
  • low mounted scopes

The BSA should should be ashamed for lending their name to such a poorly designed product.

by lc, from TN, United States Written on February 26, 2018
Yes, I let myself get sucked into this one at a clearance sale and I can sure understand why it was in the clearance section. The sight mechanism is impossible to keep in position while sighting in. The slightest movement causes it to rotate left or right. China obviously decided to make some money off of the BSA name with this one. My suggestion is to avoid this one at all costs and either shell out the money for a good laser one or take it to your local gun shop and let them do it for you. Some will do it free.

Classic, 'cause it's not quite, ANTIQUE...

by JC, from LA, United States Written on March 19, 2017
I bought this Collimator, in error. I requested "LASER Bore Sighting Devices", from the "search engine" and got this kit, a "type" that has been available for 50+ years...
This is the oldest type of "bore sight", available to consumers. It is virtually useless, for any firearm type, and sight, other than a "Classic Scoped Hunting Rifle", and is little more than a dowel, a magnifying glass, & a piece of graph paper...
The arbors allow the "stick" to more or less fill the bore, and hold the "graph paper" in front of the "traditional" telescopic sight tube. No: adjustment, vertical/horizontal to the Collimator, lights, lasers, or "target", beyond arms length. Nothing you couldn't duplicate with the aforementioned graph paper & cleaning rod... Useless, for Lasers, "Dot Sights", etc...
Oh yeah, you will need a "light source", and good vision, to utilize it...
By the time I was ready to use it, it was too late to return. Check the "Fine Print", & the tiny pictures thoroughly, before you waste money on something that will NOT work on AR's or handguns...

Pretty good bore sighter for the price

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on August 19, 2013
Overall, the product works as advertised but the trick is to have your rifle as steady as possible when adjusting your scope's windage and elevation because any slight movement will cause the sighter scope to tilt on the arbor inside the gun's barrel causing it to look skewed through your rifle's scope. Patience and a steady hand are key to this product. I'm however disappointed that it doesn't include a .40 caliber arbor, as that's a popular caliber for many handguns and carbines, such as my Ruger PC4. I was however able to sight in my .177 caliber Crossman Storm XT air rifle's scope in under a minute.
Pros: grid pattern on the optic makes it easy to zero in your rifle scope
Cons: does not include ,40 caliber arbor, which is a popular caliber for many carbines

Bought hours before reading reviews

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on November 21, 2012
I had bought this before reading any reviews. I was really worried after purchase until I got it and used it. I zeroed my .22 in around 20 seconds and hit
the target dead centre! I am really happy with my kit. I recommend to those having problems to be patient and if necessary try to modify the studs to fit your bore. Happy camping!
Pros: Easy to use, Quick and Accurate
Cons: Have to keep moving optic into place
