Most Helpful Positive Review BSA, 30MM, RD 30, Red Dot scope
Very good scope for the money.Very easy to set up and sight in.Holds zero very well.I mounted mine on a combat 12GA shotgun. It gives very fast sight acqusition on still and moving targets.Much faster than traditional bead front sight. It is also great in low light, or no light conditions. Most Helpful Negative Review BA-RD-30RD-
The BSA Red Dot has good bright optics, but battery life is very abbreviated. The battery might last an hour if you leave it on for hunting. Better stock up on CR2032 batteries unless you want to concstant switch it on and off. Pros: Cear and b right optics Cons: Battery life is miserable

This thing survived my childhood

by E, from CA, United States Written on December 14, 2024
I got one of these when I was 13 years old. I’m 28 now and it now lives on my 22 g36. It maintains zero, it’s been through a lot on all sorts of stuff. My only gripe is you have to remember to shut it off when you’re not using it, being spare batteries on your shooting trip. But it holds a charge

BSA Optics Illuminated 1x30mm Red Dot Sight Review

by Rome, Verified Owner from MO, United States Written on August 10, 2024
I've recently added the BSA Optics Illuminated 1x30mm Red Dot Sight to my setup, and so far, it's been a solid performer, especially for the price point. Zeroing the sight was a breeze, and it has held zero without any issues—though I’ve only used it with my .22LR so far.

One of the standout features is the 11 brightness adjustments, which offer a good range of visibility in most conditions. However, I did find that on a really bright day, the dot can be a bit difficult to see, even at the highest brightness setting. This might be something to consider if you often shoot in bright outdoor environments.

Overall, for the money, the BSA Optics 1x30mm Red Dot is a great value. It’s reliable, easy to use, and gets the job done without breaking the bank.
Pros:
  • Affordable
  • easy to adjust
  • Easy to set up
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • 22LR

garbage product

by Michigan Man, from MI, United States Written on December 25, 2023
Bought this BSA optic looking for good optics that arent 400+ dollars. This aint it. Thing has only seent he range 4-5 times and its already broke. Never dropped it, never banged it off anything. My AR has gone from the safe to the range bag to the range and fired roughly 500 rounds and this thing is jingle jangling all over on the inside. I pulled it out to chnage the battery and noticed the loose noises coming from it. Popped it off chnaged the battery and now the red dot is all over on the inside. Cheapest POS ive bought besides a trybe. The sig duaer romeo is better than this junk. Do like they say folks and buy an eotech or holosun or trijicon or aimpoint or something with a reputation. This thing is absolutely junk. Sucks because i liked it the first few times i took it out. Now its a broken piece of garbage that got thrown away.
Pros:
  • crisp and clear when not broke
Cons:
  • Low battery life
  • very fragile design
Best Used for:
  • a target to shoot at not with.

BSA 30mm Red Dot

by Jon Jon, from ME, United States Written on January 23, 2023
This product fell apart after three shots on my AR-47. The return policy for BSA and Optic Planet are miserable. Optic Planet is a month return policy and BSA won't refund but will only replace after a long process and sending them a ten dollar check. This product didn't hold for three shots I can't imagine the replacement will be much better
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Fell apart
Best Used for:
  • Non 80% lowers

hoping that i just got a defective one

by kevin, from NY, United States Written on June 14, 2021
mounted this on my 12ga shotgun and proceeded to sight in.
After only the second shot the elevation adjustment knob on the top popped off and hit me in
the face. At this point had not touched anything, just mounted and started to shoot.
I did like the field of view and eye relief, the dot was bright enough. the unit just did not hold up
after only 2 shoots.
undecided about whether I will try another one.
Returning this one for a refund.

BSA TW35RD

by Danny, from NC, United States Written on December 26, 2020
I purchased this optic for my Saint rifle while in the military, due to my occupation I haven't been able to use it often until recently. The system was always mounted and stored I n my gun safe unless I went to the range where it was carried mounted on my rife and in a padded case. The other day I went outside to shoot it and after about 20rounds the on/off switch popped off to the point that the dot will not stay on or adjust. This is something I've never encountered before and very disappointed about.
Pros:
  • Flush mount
Cons:
  • On/switch
Best Used for:
  • Small caliber fire arms

Red dot not bright enough

by Roger, from TX, United States Written on September 16, 2020
I have a BSA red dot of this model that I ordered from another company, and I was fully satisfied with it. This one was not satisfactory because the red dot is too dim and can barely be seen in daylight.
Pros:
  • Easy to attach, easy to adjust, lens covers
Cons:
  • Dot not bright enough
Best Used for:
  • Rifles

Not Bright enough!

by Roger, from TX, United States Written on August 19, 2020
RD30 BSA Red Dot Scope works only fairly well in very low-light situations. I have one that I had bought previously from a different supplier, and it works well. New battery didn't help. Very disappointed. Otherwise, the scope is easy to mount and easy to zero and makes the gun very accurate. It has 11 intensity settings, but only the top settings are useful at all, and then only in low-light conditions.
