useless light
Save your money . If you want to shoot something that looks green from 50 yards then maybe you will like it but you could buy a mag light from Walmart find a green leans to put on it and it would work just as well . Better off buying a real light that you can see with . TOATALY DISAPOINTED !!!!

NS300 Green Laser Designator
Once I got the light on my rifle it took about 5 min to center the beam to my cross hairs. The site distance is beyond reasonable considering your hunting at night. I have never used a light that is so focus able with it's beam. Intense!

Useless Junk
This light is useless over 50 yards. At a 100 yards it only lights up an animals eyes and you can't even tell what kind of animal it is and that is through a 14X scope. The mount is poor quality and moves constantly after shooting. You have to readjust the mount after every shot. I have a $30 flashlight that works better.
Pros:
- None
- none, so far useless
Cons:
- Useless
Best Used for:
- paper weight

Unit received defective
Unit appeared to operate, but the projected beam had a big line through the illumination area, like there was a big crack in some lens inside the unit. Was very disappointed in the range. Unknown if the range was degraded due to the issue of the projected beam? Although set to the highest, most narrowed beam, it was not visible at the range advertised. Hoping for better from this company.

Works great...needs a different mount.
I just bought the NS300 from Optics Planet and I really like it. I shot a hog this past Saturday night and it worked great. I shined it right in his eyes for over 10 seconds and he never seemed to notice. I also tried it at 24 degrees and it worked as advertised. I want to address a couple of issues, though. Firstly, the mount is fine if you plan to put it on one gun and never move it. But what if you want to switch guns or use it as a flashlight? You'll need a hex wrench to do that. Also, what if you are deer hunting and want to stay in the stand after dark to hog hunt? You might have some explaining to do with the game warden if he sees that light on your gun during deer season. So I wish that they had made the top of the that mount with a quick release. The other issue is brightness. I use my NS300 with a 3x9 scope. At 150 yards, with the columator set to full wide, the image will be green and washed out (not very bright). But if you dial that columator down just a little, the image brightens up very quickly and your viewable range gets much further. I think that may be the problem the other reviewer was having. Lastly, this is not a very good flashlight at close distance. The beam is too narrow even at it's widest setting. YMMV
Pros:
- Works as advertised
- Much less expensive than true night vision
- Mount and pressure switch included
- Animals are not spooked at all
Cons:
- Need quick release mount
- Beam too narrow for flashlight work
Best Used for:
- Hunting and scouting

Great Green Laser!
This little green laser is bright and powerful. Unlike many lasers, the diameter of the beam is adjustable which allows you to scan your field of view much easier. The range of the laser is awesome. Because the beam has a larger diameter, you can see the beam for longer distances. I was thoroughly impressed!

Poor product
This is 2nd one of these I bought. The first one was a nd30 a few years back and it didn't work if was lower than 60 degrees. After about 3 months it quit working. So I saw that had improved their product and now it works in cold weather. Got the new version put their battery in it and it worked pretty good. Then I went to change out the battery and the switch cap stopped turning. (I have been a technician for major auto manufacturer for 40 years.) The aluminum threads messed up do to poor machining. I have had this problem with the aluminum fittings for a/c systems. I have threw them both in the garbage. Streamlight is the way to go for a varmint light. Will not get another nd really don't want it even if they were to give me another one two or three of them.
Pros:
- None
Cons:
- They are unreliable
Best Used for:
- Lighting the bottom of garbage can

Bought for night time feral hog control
I bought this item for night time feral hog control because a friend recommended it. I also bought an illuminated reticle scope from Optics Planet. Last weekend I installed both on my .270 and sighted it in on Monday. The longest shot I’ll have is a little over 200 yards and I can see chain link fence posts and trees at that distance at night well enough to align the crosshairs of my scope. I’m pretty sure that my crosshairs will disappear on a black hog so the illuminated reticle will also be necessary for accurate shooting. The adjustable beam width is a real plus.
I like this product a lot and I’m considering purchasing another for a different rifle. This light plus the illuminated reticle scope provide a much less expensive option for night shooting than a night vision scope! This review is for the Laser Genetics laser light but I have to add that the scope I bought from Optics Planet is a Sig Sauer 3-9X illuminated reticle scope. I’ve seen several scopes in which the illuminated reticle is too big. This one is perfect. The lowest illumination setting is ideal for night time shooting. I’m using Hornady’s Precision Hunter ammo with their new ELD-X bullets. Off of a rest and sand bags I shot a half inch group, my best ever for factory loads. I reload but with performance like that I see no need to do so for hog control.
