Good and Bad

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on May 18, 2012
I bought this scope for my 7.62x39 AK variant, it mounted easily and seemed pretty solid from it's weight and feel. FIRST SHOOTING: Zeroed at 100 meters pretty quickly and held zero pretty well through the 300 rounds i put through it. I was able to knock a 6" target around pretty much every time at 100 meters using this scope without much effort put into breathing patterns or stabilizing, just point and shoot, and the target flies. I was pretty pleased. SECOND SHOOTING: A few weeks later. This time i wasn't able to hit anything, THIS WAS DUE TO MY RAIL MOUNT NOT HOLDING ZERO AND PRESUMABLY NOT THE FAULT OF THE SCOPE. I gave up and used my iron sights to blast about 450 rounds downrange. When I removed the scope to mount it with a better rail setup the windage adjustment knob fell off in my hand, essentially turning the $140 (price i paid at a gun shop, not online.) scope i just bought into a toy for my 4 year old son's airsoft rifle. I may have gotten a bad one, i may not, but in my opinion this scope doesn't seem sturdy enough to standup to moderate use on a rifle other something with super low recoil like a .22 or airsoft.
Pros: multiple colors and brightness levels, pretty accurate, easy to adjust and use, seems to hold zero.
Cons: not super sturdy, though it is heavy.
