Since Speer no longer manufactures their "Short Barrel" Gold Dot ammunition this is what I am feeding my GP100 01790. Buffalo Bore has meticulously tested these loads to find the right balance of velocity, flash and recoil out of short barreled handguns. While Speer only offered a 135-grain version (tested 990 fps from a 2-inch barrel), Buffalo Bore offers a 125-grain, a 140-grain and a lead-free Barnes 125-grain version.
