Not 40 Inches Long
Purchased for my Mossberg 930 SPX which is 39 inches long and it barley fits - tight zip.
Pros: Great Value, features, and Construction

midway between a hard case and a soft case
I got this for a Winchester carbine (37" OAL) - with the lever open it fills the bag almost completely. I would expect a carbine with optics would find it a tight fit.
It has two internal pockets, big enough for shooting glasses but putting an ear protection headset would bulge so much it'll hit the carbine. These pockets don't look big enough to fit a compact or full-size handgun.
The two internal pockets have a set of bullet loops, testing with snap caps they are meant for shotgun shells or rifle cartridges, as my pistol snap caps keep slipping out.
The shoulder sling is attached to one side instead of the ends, allowing you to sling the case across your back comfortably. I'll need to use it more to judge the strength of the strap attachments but for a 6-lb carbine they seem sufficient.

Shot gun case
I love the case. I use the ammo compartments for other things so it doesn't matter.

Bulldog Hybrid 40" Tactical Shotgun Cas
I have been looking for an affordable yet sturdy case for my tactical 870 Remington. Most shotgun cases are either to long or to narrow for this weapon. Knox Spec-ops pistol grip stock with Trac loc ghost ring sights make this difficult to fit. I have found this case perfect for fit.
Pros: Excellent soft case with the added protection of the hard fiber sidewalls to protect your investment from hard knocks.
Cons: Needs some type of internal strap to secure the weapon from moving around during transit.

Bulldog Hybrid 40" Tactical Shotgun Case
The case is ok for the money, but not as sturdy as some of the other Bulldog Hybrid cases that are available. This one leans towards a softcase in terms of stiffness even though its claimed as a hybrid case. The zippers can be hard to zip if the inside is too bulky.

Nice Case..Smells Good.
This case will work with a factory gun stock and a pistol grip making it a 2 for one setup.My Remington 870 with factory synthetic stock and 18.5 inch barrel fits in this case.To keep ammo in the case there are 2 sets of bandolier holders inside the supplied storage pockets.Didnt try but you could probably fit 2 pistol grip shotguns in here,although there arent any holdown strps.

Bulldog Hybrid 40"Tactical Shotgun Case
This case is very rugged,well padded,and the design was well thought out. I have used this case quite a bit at the range and it has served my needs very well. I keep my Winchester defender with a tac. light on it and the protection this case provides hasn't failled me. The acessory pockets on the inside are very handy also.
