Almost perfect - Bulldog Cases & Vaults Hard-Sided Nylon 40 x 14 x 3 Tactical Case Black w/ Blank Foam BD596

The Bulldog soft case is, as my review title says, almost perfect for a back-and-forth to the range carrying. It just falls short in terms of size (by a tiny amount) and in materials. This case fits AR-15s (Carbine sized), AKs, and a few other small carbines, but if it was just 2-3 inches longer and about an inch thicker it would fit so many more firearms. It is what it is, but it just a bit skinny to fit a scoped SF rifle. I can't really knock them for it, but I think Bulldog is missing a market segment here.

As to materials, the 'rigid' portions of the case are made of wood. Yes, I said wood. No, I'm not kidding, wood. Wood. I'm not sure if this is a cost-saving measure, but you could free up a few inches of length inside if a thinner, but more rigid plastic was used. It works as it, but if it gets dropped or bent too far, that wood will break (as my first case order did in shipping). Don'g get me wrong, for the weight and price this is a great to-the-range case, but it could be truly great with a few changes. I'll still be buying another one for my other AR. Yeah, I still like it.

Finally, I'd like to thank Optics Planet for replacing the first one of these that I ordered that was damaged in shipment. The CSR was pleasant, helpful, and quick in getting my case taken care of. New items shipped almost immediately. Thanks, OP, that's one of the reasons I keep coming back to shop here.
