A decent scope, but not for the money. - Burris XTR II 1-5x24mm Illuminated Rifle Scope

HatGuysGun's Review of Burris XTR II 1-5x24mm Illuminated Rifle Scope
My experience level is amateur. I haven't yet learned how to use mil or moa to pick out a target, but I am a good shot and know the difference between a good and bad scope.
Out of the box, the illumination feature worked intermittently/sporadically, so I am returning it for that manufacturer defect alone. Burris Forever Warranty would cover this, but it's nice when things just work. When it did work, it illuminated nicely in they day and has a usable range of powers.
Looking through the scope, image distortion/warping was immediately apparent for almost 25 - 40% of the FOV (field of view) at the edges, depending on zoom level.
Focus is at the back of the scope underneath the flip cap, so you have to take the cap off to adjust it right, but movement of the cap can cause you to lose your focus level.
Turrets are nice, clearly and sharply market. They turn well.
Spring-flip caps were included for the front and rear (which I didn't know so I ordered a set. I wish OP had told me that on the phone when I ordered them.
The caps work nicely.
My verdict for this scope comes down to price. It is a decent scope, but not for even the low price of $720 I paid. Bummer.
Pros:
Turrets
Spring-flip caps
Illumination levels
Cons:
cost
Image Distortion
