We all read the magazines with reviews of $1000+ scopes, but there is precious little info out there for the person who needs something more basic. For under $200 this 6.5-20× scope is great for its likely mission: poking holes in paper woodchucks at 100yds. at the range mounted on a vintage .222 model 700 Varmint rifle. No doubt it will always be in the middle of the day, it won't be falling of a Land Crusier on a safari in Africa, or shooting at a once in a lifetime trophy bighorn across mountain ranges. But it is quite enough clear, and adjustable for my purposes. In fact, it is a really good deal for the limited budget and mission goals that I have. Note that it does not come with any lens caps. My rifle required high rings to get enough clearance. The Burris one piece steel rings are quite good and clean looking.
Pros:
- Great price. Adjustable objective!!, not too tactical looking,, not overly heavy
Cons:
- Second focal plane doesn't allow for BDC all the way through the zoom range
- Discontinued, so it won't be around too long
Best Used for:
- Range day use. Flat shooting cartridges.

The glass was very clear, but the reticle is ridiculously thick and obscures the target at anything over 50 yards. In addition, mine would not focus at 50 yards as advertised, so I sent it back to Burris. They said there was nothing wrong with it and sent it right back to me!

Extremely clear optics for the price. Nice tight magnification adjustment. Ez to move but holds where you park it. Ez focus! I found once focused to me, the scope holds focus throughout entire magnification range from 6x-20×! Excellent buy for the money. I have much more expensive optics on some rifles that are no clearer than this one. Purchased this scope for a Jeep gun .308 so it will be put through its paces. Forever warranty is a big bonus for an off road traveling gun/scope!
Pros:
- Clear optics, holds focus throughout magnification,
Best Used for:
- Hunting, spotting, target shooting

Scope would not hold zero. Sent back to Burris still waiting to hear anything been 2 weeks. So I put a vortex on that gun. They said be 2 to 4 weeks before any action. Was not impressed with the scope at all. Wasted a few boxes of ammo trying to get it to work.

I own five Burris scopes, they have never let me down. My Burris scopes hold true even after bouncing around in the Jeep and the atv. The glass is awesome and consistent in all of my Burris scopes. I bought my first one in the early 80s and every rifle I have has Burris scope on it. I did try a Leopold once , It just wouldn’t hold true compared to Burris, I sent it back. I’m sticking to what works for me time after time

This is an excellent scope. It is very clear and easy to see through. I love the markings for different distances because it takes the guesswork out of shooting. It was very easy to adjust to my eyes, with or without contacts. I will purchase another for my backup deer rifle. I definitely would recommend this scope to anyone that wants a quality scope without breaking the bank.

The Burris scope I ordered had a small problem with the windage and elevation settings. I sent it back and ordered a replacement. It was to my account the 31sy day after the order therefore too late to return. Optics Planet accepted it viewed the problem and send me another scope within a few days AND at no charge. Starting not they will be my supplier of choice.
Pros:
- Fast and reliable shippimg and service

The scope is awesome clear high quality glass! Great for big game or far target shooting now receiving the scope was anything but awesome took almost a month to get the right one to me but the quality was worth the wait! I would compare this scope to trijicon or meopti on all levels Burris done it right with this one!

I wrote a simple review on this optic a bit ago....saying that it was a "beast to zero" and that I had maxed out the windage and elevation. Well, I was wrong. Now you can use any one inch scope rings for this optic, but in my opinion, it works best with the Burris Signature Zee Rings. These rings have a posi-align insert thingy that fits inside of the scope ring, which assists with the elevation and windage. Once that was explained to me (by a certified gunsmith), it made things much clearer.
This scope is not a bear to zero...Even though the optic is on the "economical friendly" side, it's still one of the best scopes I've used and the movements are very precise. I dig this scope...I really do and definitely recommend it with the right high or extra rings.
I do wish that the optic had the side the objective focus knob...but it's cool....
