Drew's Review of Burris Airgun / Rimfire Signature 1 inch Rifle Scope Mount Rings for .22 grooved receivers

Years back I would slap a scope in some walmart rings, sight it in and be good. Never paid any mind to the idea that the mounts might not be perfectly in line with the barrel. Ever sight something in at 25yds and realize you're 2" right at 50yds and 6" right at 100yds? Exactly. Burris signatures with the offset inserts are a game changer in a rifle that may not be lined up or may have mounting holes drilled off center (ahem.. cough.. Marlin). Mounted these on a Browning BL22 and with a brand new Leupold factory centered reticle I was off from the start. Used the +/-5 inserts (not included) to get the scope close to center without moving the scope adjustments and fine tuned from there. Same thing on a CZ455. Center your scope reticle, use the inserts to make sure your scope and barrel are aligned, and then fine tune from there. You should be in line on windage from up close or from a distance with not crossing point of sighting in where the point of aim and point of impact intersect on non parallel planes. In addition to all of that baloney, the plastic inserts keep from marring up ring marks on your high dollar scopes. The Rimfire versions come with 2 different bottom lip parts to accommodate both 3/8 dovetails as well as 11mm.

Worth what you pay for them. And then what you pay extra for different +/- inserts. Set it up right the first time and forget about it.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.
