RP's Review of Burris Fullfield 3-12x42mm 1in Tube Riflescope

Burris Optics gave me this free product to try. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.

Out of the box, this scope was well made, sleek, and had a lot of simple features that go a long way. Mounting the scope was easy, but required a "high" set of scope rings to ensure the bell of the scope wasn't touching my rifle barrel. This may differ on other rifles, but was easily resolved by purchasing new scope bases. Sighting in was easy and the turret adjustments were simple. Make sure you have the provided hex key with you when attempting to adjust the elevation turret! It is a small hex key that is relatively uncommon to have in a range bag.

Functionally, the scope was great. All the features were intuitive and the wind reticle provided an uncluttered sight picture that still allows for on the fly windage adjustments. I love the illuminated reticle and having "off" positions in between each illumination level makes it practical while hunting.

I used this scope for roughly 18 hours, mounting, sighting in at the range, testing handloads at the range, and finally hunting in the mountains. It performed well in each scenario and I was able to punch my mule deer tag with it!

I think the Fullfield line is a great value and I would recommend this scope to anyone that needs a practical, affordable scope that punches above it's price point.
