JDHasty's Review of Burris Fullfield E1 6.5-20x50mm 1in Tube Second Focal Plane (SFP) Rifle Scope

We are currently using Leupold 6.5-20, Burris Signature 8-32, Nitrex 5-20 TR2s & 6-20 TR1s, and Burris 6-24 and maybe some I can't remember on our varmint rifles. Some are a bit more user friendly than others, but all work well for our application. I'm thinking these will go on the two 204s, freeing up a couple others for use on other caliber varmint rifles. 204 and 22-250 having essentially the same trajectory, my experience tells me that this reticle should work out well.

Have not mounted them yet, but the optics looks very good and the reticle impresses me as one that is going to be very user friendly for everyone, especially the kids.

We bought one, then immediately upon looking through it to determine if we were going to be happy with the optics and reticle purchased two more.

I cannot speak to the repeatability of the turrets at this time or the accuracy of the side focus. Given time we will mount them into our test fixture and run them through a thorough their paces. If my experience with Burris is anything to go on they should be at least sufficiently accurate for any work we will be using them for.

The FOV listed on the OP website in the specifications is obviously wrong, it is listed by Burris as 6-18 feet, not 6-8 feet. The number for the low end magnification didn't impress me as logical, so I checked with Burris prior to placing the first order.

What I am saying is this scope appears to be perfectly suited for our primary application (shooting rock chucks and prairie dogs) and looking through it late in the evening they should also work out quite well for predator calling in low light situations or perhaps big game hunting in western states.
