Most Helpful Positive Review Burris Fullfield Scope---the only scope I need!
I bought one of these last year, and as life happens, it took me over a year to get out to the Oklahoma panhandle to put it through its paces in the prairie dog towns out these. I have it mounted on a .204 Ruger built by Bullberry Barrel Works---and this amazing scope is the absolute best I've ever used. Bright-clear glass doesn't begin to describe it. I've found some other scopes to be really picky relative to eye relief. Not this one. I ran it at about 12x for two days. Whether I was shooting at 100 yards or 300 yards, I needed no more than that on those prairie dogs. I could go on---b...

It's worth the money.

This is a great scope for the price. I used it to sight in a new BCA 6.5 Grendel Upper and I could see my shot at 100yrds with no issues, clear glass, Nice reticle, Parallex adjustment knob. I really like the Parallex adjustment.
The windage knob is on the light side and is hard to feel the clicks as you adjust it and the elevation knob is more noticeable but still on the light side and hard to feel the clicks.
The Parallex adjustment is stiff and holds its place well.
I wish for the price Burris would add a set of lens caps and offer a sunshade so if your hunting in the open you don't have to worry about the sun rise or sun set messing with your view.
Overall, I am super satisfied with this scope. I would recommend this scope to anyone looking for a good cheap hunting scope for a 6.5 Grendel.
Pros:
  • water proof
  • Clear lens
  • shock proof
  • side mounted Parallex adjustment
Cons:
  • No lens caps or sunshade
Best Used for:
  • hunting and planking at 200yrds plus

It's worth the money.

by Grendel man, Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on September 4, 2022
I ordered a Burris 6.5-20x50mm scope and I took it out to my back yard to bore sight my rifle in at 36yrd to get it on paper and as soon as I put the rifle on my stand, I noticed a long scratch in the finish that wasn't there when I opened the packaging. I did not drop, bump, or smack it into anything that could have left the scratch. All I know is it must not take much to damage the finish on this scope. That is the only reason it gets 4 stars from me. Other than that, it has a really nice viewpoint and the etching in the glass stands out really well and is easy to see. The Parallax adjustment is a really nice upgrade from the scopes I have now. The Parallax setting will work from 50yrd on out to long range distances making it easy to sight in at the range. This is my first Burris scope and it won't be my last. I can't say to many bad things about this scope as it was a great value with a great warrantee. I just wish the finish was better and it came with protective lens caps.
Overall, I would highly recommend this scope to anyone looking for a great US made scope on a budget.
Pros:
  • parallax adjustment
  • clear view lens and easy to see through
  • range from 50yrds out to 400yrds easy
  • Etched glass so you'll never have to warry about broken cross hairs
Cons:
  • poor finish
  • No lens caps
Best Used for:
  • Anything from target to hunting big game

I think we are going to be quite happy with these 6.5-20 w/Burris Ballisitic Plex E1 MV Reticle

by JDHasty, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on December 22, 2021
We are currently using Leupold 6.5-20, Burris Signature 8-32, Nitrex 5-20 TR2s & 6-20 TR1s, and Burris 6-24 and maybe some I can't remember on our varmint rifles. Some are a bit more user friendly than others, but all work well for our application. I'm thinking these will go on the two 204s, freeing up a couple others for use on other caliber varmint rifles. 204 and 22-250 having essentially the same trajectory, my experience tells me that this reticle should work out well.

Have not mounted them yet, but the optics looks very good and the reticle impresses me as one that is going to be very user friendly for everyone, especially the kids.

We bought one, then immediately upon looking through it to determine if we were going to be happy with the optics and reticle purchased two more.

I cannot speak to the repeatability of the turrets at this time or the accuracy of the side focus. Given time we will mount them into our test fixture and run them through a thorough their paces. If my experience with Burris is anything to go on they should be at least sufficiently accurate for any work we will be using them for.

The FOV listed on the OP website in the specifications is obviously wrong, it is listed by Burris as 6-18 feet, not 6-8 feet. The number for the low end magnification didn't impress me as logical, so I checked with Burris prior to placing the first order.

What I am saying is this scope appears to be perfectly suited for our primary application (shooting rock chu...

Burris IS ALWAYS the best quality and value

by Glenn, from CO, United States Written on January 19, 2020
I've owned Burris scopes since engineer Don Burris first left Redfield and started his own company to make better quality scopes in the mid-70s. This and all other Burris scopes I've purchased since the beginning have been the absolute best quality and value in scopes. Additionally, the Burris warranty can NOT be beat and is totally unquestionable. I've had two Burris warranty repairs (simply due to aging effects after 30 years of service and turrets getting harder to turn/adjust) of two of the first Burris scopes (the original Fullfield). Since I live not too far from the Burris repair center in Greely, Colorado, I took them myself to the repair center. Since the scopes have the Burris name on them that is all that is needed.... The clerk simply took the scopes, without any paperwork from me, asked what the problem was and then asked if I'd like a new one or to have the original repaired. In one case it was nearing hunting season so I took the offer of a new one. In the other case, I had it repaired and they not only fixed the problem but also refurbished the entire insides of the scope. Both have again severed me perfectly ever since. Their "No Questions Asked" warranty works as advertised and is a another big factor in me purchasing many Burris scopes. Why spend a lot of your money on a Leupold, when you can buy a Burris......
Pros:
  • Best quality and value in scopes
Cons:
  • None

Burris e1 fullfield 6.5-20

by LJ, from VA, United States Written on November 7, 2019
I think this is a great optic. The only reason that I only give it a four star review is that I personally do not love the reticle. It is small for precision shooting but it is hard to see in low light conditions.
Pros:
  • Very clear glass
Cons:
  • Reticle is hard to see in low light conditions

this scope is the best glass I have ever owned and I have owned some other high end makes in the past. The price was great also. I cant get over the clarity of the glass in this scope.I have looked thru optics that cost 3-4 times as much and can tell NO difference. It dosent get any better than that

Had to adjust the mounts first

by KG, from UT, United States Written on October 10, 2018
I have a Burris on a .338 LM which functions better than I do. Just looking for another scope for yet another rifle I just had to have.
One review said his scope didn't have any vertical adjustment when mounted. Here is what I found a long time ago.
I install the mount(s), and then use a laser in the chamber to fire down the middle of the barrel. I just lay the new Scope in the bottom half of the mount(s) with both elevation and horizontal adjustments directly in the middle of their numbers. I have a tree at 90-feet with a small sheet of white paper with black lines vertical and horizontal on it. This compares the position of the laser beam with the center of the scope. It needs to be about the same distance as that from the laser-dot to the middle reticle of the scope; generally most are about 2-1/2 inches vertical. Anything much different either horizontal or vertical might suggest an adjustment with the base.
You will notice there is usually a difference in the thickness of the barrel back by the bolt as compared to the thickness out on the barrel.
If this doesn't make any sense, just ignore it. I'm just fussy. Most people have a gunsmith install the scope.

The mistake that had benn corrected

by Slav, from MO, United States Written on July 19, 2018
Ok Burris I’m sorry about leaving a bad review on your scope. It was my fault! I thought it was the scope that was giving me problems, well turns out it’s my gun! So now that I got everything fixed with my gun the scope works great! Love it and will be getting more Burris scope’s !
