Most Helpful Positive Review Speedbead
Great mounting system for Fastfire. Easy to install and sight in. Highly recommend.
Most Helpful Negative Review Burris speed bead
Item does not fit properly as described. I spoke with a representative at Burris and they stated that on occasions you have to make slight modifications. Was not happy with that. If I buy a product for a specific application I should not have to modify.

Burris Speedbead doesn’t my Beretta A400 Unico

by Ara, from 3045bg, Netherlands Written on June 25, 2023
Although explicitly stated that the Burris speedbead is suitable for my Beretta A400 Unico, it doesn’t’ fit. The frame is just 1 mm off to fit over the pistolgrip. and it also damages my coating. If I turn around the speedbead it fits but the red dot is not placed horizontal.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Does not fit a beretta A400 Unico

Not for me

by Rebelraider, from LA, United States Written on March 17, 2022
I installed this mount on my Remington 1187 and no matter what I did I could not get the dot to lift any higher than directly pointing at my barrel. Contacted Burris and they recommended a spacer which did not work. I brought the gun to a gun Smith which was able to get it sitting properly but he had to remove the foam pad and bend the mount. I took the gun to the range and fired 1 shot of skeet load just to make sure it was on paper and it was close to perfect and only needed a slight adjustment. I looked through the site to make the adjustment and the dot was pointing at the barrel again. I attempted to adjust the mount but every time I made a shot the red dot went all over the place and it could be moved with the thumb. I would definitely not recommend this mount at all. I am removing the mount and putting a picatinny rail on it and trying that instead. I wanted this mount to bring the sight back closer to me but there is no way this mount will work. Definitely do not recommend this mount.
Pros:
  • fast shipping
Cons:
  • Flimsy material, difficult to mount, didn't work at all

Tight but fits the SBE3

by TES82, from NJ, United States Written on January 25, 2022
Fits with some slight modifications. A little oversized for the stock but not noticeable. Can grind it down if it bothers you. Bought this first to make sure it would fit the 3 1. 2

Speed bead

by Bill, from FL, United States Written on April 4, 2021
Installation was very easy on my stoeger 2000. I used an adapter plate to mount a swampfox kingslayer on it and it turned out great. I took a nice 20 lb gobbler in N. Florida with the setup a week ago.

Installing a Burris Fastfire 3 red dot & Burris Speed bead mount on a Benelli super black eagle3

by Bruce Gill, from NJ, United States Written on April 24, 2020
Not easy to install on a Benelli super black eagle 3.I had to drill out the holes on the stock and the receiver so the pins on the base would allow the base to slide into position. Mounting the sight on the base was easy.Sighting in was easy.
Pros:
  • easy to use
Cons:
  • not easy to install on a Benell super black eagle 3
Best Used for:
  • Turkey hunting

Browning Maxus

by SoGa Boy, from GA, United States Written on April 23, 2020
Fits poorly. Just too much play after installing it. The idea Burris had was great to get it mounted that low but poorly executed. I have about 2 hrs total in trying to get it to stabilize without modifying my shotgun and it still moves every shot. Also paid for 2 day shipping with turkey season upon me. Got it after about 4 or 5 days of it shipping. No complaint with the seller, other than them selling this product. They shipped it sooner than was expected. The shipping was and the mount for a maxus is a waste of over $100
Pros:
  • Easy to install
Cons:
  • Everything about it other than installation
Best Used for:
  • Paperweight and such

Great for training aid for trap

by mi3gun, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on July 21, 2019
I primally shoot 3gun with weighed contacts for astigmatism...lots shots in quick succession would blur my vision though this might help...3gun is mostly static targets and I had very little experience shooting clays so when I read reviews of folks saying it won't help with flying clays I figured wasn't relevant...Turns out they were dead wrong shot some trap with my boys almost doubled my hits... biggest take aways is your cheek placement doesn't have to be perfect..just pull trigger when dot has correct lead
Pros:
  • Long term durability still unknown
Cons:
  • Gets a little in the way of strong hand quad loads...but doable
Best Used for:
  • Anything you would use a shotgun for
  • Can co-wittnes so even if it fails you still have front sight
