Mike Soto's Review of Burris Xtreme Tactical 5-25x50mm 34mm Tube First Focal Plane Rifle Scope

This is now my 3rd Burris XTR2 scope in the 5x25 power. My first one I bought at full retail price when the XTR2's first came out many many years ago. The last two I got recently now that they have been on sale. All of these scopes are built like tanks, yes they are very heavy but you definitely dont have to worry if you bang then around a few times. They hold Zero very well, track well and work in all conditions I have used them in from Snowy mountains at 20 degrees F to southen california desert temps in the summer when it's 119 degress F. They definitely live up to their reputation for the most part. My only Con I can say is that when you zoom in they are only crystal clear up to 15 even 18 power after that they get blurry and Hazy, However with the currently sale price this scope will blow anything away in that price point or even any scope around the $1000 dollar mark. I have A Vortex PST and a strike eagle in the same power and I still go for my Burris first especially if I know I am going to be rough on my gear that day or week.
Pros:
  • Dependable
  • amazing warranty and customer service
  • built like a tank, almost indestructable
  • Price point and quality
Cons:
  • blurry after 15x or 18x depending on time of day
Best Used for:
  • competition
  • Long range shots that count
