Most Helpful Positive Review Astonishing!
I've had this scope mounted up for 2 months now. I came from the mark 5 with the h59 reticle. The scr-2 felt right at home with the .2 hash marks and I felt like I adapted very quickly. The glass is incredible I am completely amazed at the improvement over the xtr ii glass. The parallax is also a game changer I have one of these scopes on my 22lr trainer and my match rifle. The 20yd parallax is incredible I can dry fire my match rifle in the basement and I can shoot close targets with 22lr without worrying about seeing what I'm shooting that close. Overall this scope is an absolute winner! 10/...

Absolute Quality

by Joe B., Verified Owner from NC, United States Written on September 21, 2025
This is my first higher quality rifle scope coming from a Chinese brand that starts with an A and ends with an N. The glass is so much more clear. I’m now in a debate as to if I purchase another for my DMR. Would definitely recommend

Burris XTR III 5.5-30x56mm Rifle Scope, 34mm Tube, First Focal Plane

by John, Verified Owner from AR, United States Written on September 19, 2024
The scope clarity and functions are great. The zero stop setting is confusing to set, more particularly confusing to reset. I sighted in the scope and set the elevation zero stop pretty quickly. After another trip to the range and a change in ammo, I reset the sight and resetting the elevation zero stop was a challenge. I would like to see the instructions be more clear about this process. Other that the zero stop issue, the scope is great.
Pros:
  • Clarity
Cons:
  • zero stop complicated?
  • zero stop complicated
Best Used for:
  • long distance shooting

Made for LONG HAUL.

by Jake, from CO, United States Written on September 16, 2024
One of the dear long range optics I’ve ever used. I’ve had the top two( as per advertised) “ precision long range scopes on my 338LM and 6.5CM. I installed the XTR 111, and will not look back. This scope is hands down far superior in every way and makes the one mile impacts easily done with the 338LM. Burris in now my only optic as I have purchased 7 more since that day. Not all are the XTR 111 but they all perform flawlessly and I expect nothing less from Burris. I will and have put it up against the advertised top two ( NF and vortex ) and Burris is optically superior in the field, where I need it the most.

Excellent image quality, best turrets.

by Curtis, from MO, United States Written on September 9, 2024
I currently own a number of Burris scopes, a Fullfield IV 2.5-10, an XTR II 4-20, and now this XTR III 5.5-30. The XTR II is a great scope, but the XTR III is hands down better everywhere. Image quality is fantastic, turrets have a great feel to them and the size of the text is perfect. This has the best eyebox of any scope I currently own, and field of view is excellent, even in the upper mag ranges. This is not to say the XTR II isn't good, it was, but this is just better, and also why it made perfect sense to discontinue the very good XTR II 4-20, which I doubt I'll ever get rid of. I do own other brands, but I'm quickly seeing a bias in my lineup. I plan to try an XTR Pro or a Steiner T6XI next in order to sample the US made line.
