Having shopped around for a spotting scope for a while I found this one to be the best for the price. This scope will get the job done for you as an effective spotting scope and you will have enough left over of your budget to get other products as well.

bushnell spotting scope #781817
The spacemaster is clear easy to use and a good value. My wife had never looked through a scope before and was amazed. The backback case leaves a little to be desired but is functional,a good tripod for bench or prone work, but this I think is a good value! I've had good results with all Bushnell products and Optics Planet. Happy.
