PT's Review of Bushnell AR Optics 1-6x24mm LPVO Rifle Scope, 30mm Tube, Second Focal Plane

I was a bit hesitant when I bought this because it's hard to judge a scope until I get it in my own hands and look through it with my own eyes. But I am glad I did. The reticle is smaller than it looks in the photo, but just slightly larger than compared to Swampfox or Vortex. The thing that blew me away the most was the brightness of the glass. I wasn't expecting it to be as bright and clear as it is at this price range. I prefer it over the Vortex SE. 1X, like most others is not a true 1X, more like a 1.1-1.2, but honestly it is perfectly usable. The illumination is not nuclear, but it is visible in daylight. Honestly I don't care for bright illumination in broad daylight because the reticle is very visible with excellent contrast without it. In low light, the lowest settings are fine. The built-in throw lever and additional long throw lever work great, function smoothe and are surprisingly quiet when folding up or down. The mag ring rotates at what I would call a "perfect" amount in terms of smoothness and quiet, not too loose and not too stiff. The turrets are very tactile and seem to be accurate with no unwanted drift. The eyepiece has no wiggle in it, and has a rubberized ring in the front. I measured the objective and eyepiece ends of the scope for different covers, and the tube OD is exactly 30mm, and the eyepiece is 42.2mm at its widest. Overall, this is definitely worth the money in the sub-300 category, I'd buy it again.
Pros:
  • Overall build quality, clear glass, good reticle, not too heavy or light.
Cons:
  • Co-witnessing at 1X may be awkward
Best Used for:
  • Shooting any AR in 5.56 out to 500m
