Most Helpful Positive Review Good optic!
I was a bit hesitant when I bought this because it's hard to judge a scope until I get it in my own hands and look through it with my own eyes. But I am glad I did. The reticle is smaller than it looks in the photo, but just slightly larger than compared to Swampfox or Vortex. The thing that blew me away the most was the brightness of the glass. I wasn't expecting it to be as bright and clear as it is at this price range. I prefer it over the Vortex SE. 1X, like most others is not a true 1X, more like a 1.1-1.2, but honestly it is perfectly usable. The illumination is not nuclear, but it is vi...

And this one is just right...

by Glen Gilmore, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on February 11, 2025
What I REALLY wanted was another Primary Arms 1x6x24 GenIII with the large chevron K.I.S.S reticle but... PA discontinued the KISS. Besides PA's reputation for glass above its price point, I Ioved the BIG chevron with just a couple stadia to the sides. Crazy fast up close @ 1x, chevron tip for distance @ 6x. Ordered a PA GenIV with Aurora chevron/BDC/Wind reticle. Chevron too small and all the rest made a very "busy" sight picture. That where our Goldilocks story brings us to the Bushnell AR optics 1x6x24 BTR-1 reticle. Made in South Korea and rivals the Primary Arms glass for edge to edge clarity. 1x is as close to a true 1x as I've seen. Dot at the center of the BIG circle/horseshoe is very small for distance targeting and the 5.56 BDC is mostly contained within the aforementioned BIG circle and that large thick circle is FAST close in @ 1x. Submersible level waterproof, included cat tail (2 heights) resettable capped turrets, etched reticle with 6 levels of red illumination and an off position between each level...did I forget anything! Entry level LPVO's have come a LONG way in the last few years and there is some glass quality and features out there today that was unheard of in this price range previously and I'd say this Bushnell falls into the category.

excellent scope for money

by Mouse, Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on April 26, 2024
You can’t get cheaper than OpticsPlanet and their services excellent. Scope looks great on anything from an AR to a bolt action short barrel such as a 350 legend. Very clear sightThe illumination is perfect with off in between each click. Would pick this over Vortex any day.

Better than the SE; worth the sale price.

by NA, from FL, United States Written on March 19, 2023
This is arguably the best optic for entry LPVOs, apart from the the SIG MSR 1-6x.

At $400, it is inching towards the Viper PST in price although this optic is not bad for the price. On sale, it is a hard LPVO to beat. I bought this to replace my SE 1-6x after it literally broke apart TWICE and RMA'd TWICE in a spare NF mount on my SIG 716i Tread. Don't get any Strike Eagle products unless they're going on a PCC, or .22LR build.

If you don't know if you want an LPVO, this is a great entry-level option. The fish-eye is absolute trash although that's kind of the inherent caveat all optics made in China will bring. Actually daylight bright reticle.

Little chromatic aberration and the 1x is an actual 1x.

The throw lever is STIFF.

The diopter requires adjustment ever so slightly between magnification. Just set it and leave it.

I ended up getting 2 high-tier LPVOs and giving this one to a friend to try out. As I said, a great entry-level product to see if you want to get a mid, or premium, product down the road.

Grab it on sale, get the SIG MSR 1-6x, or just save for a Viper PST 1-6x Gen II.
Pros:
  • daylight bright
  • Great clarity for Chinese glass
  • 1x is decent
  • Didn't break on a .308 battle rifle
Cons:
  • no mount
  • Stiff throw lever
  • Diopter adjustment warranted on all magnifications
  • Warping; noticeable fisheye on 1x
Best Used for:
  • Entry Level

Bushnell BR1

by Br1, from TX, United States Written on April 11, 2021
Really impressed with optic clarity and brightness. Definitely recommend. Bushnell hit the mark with the AR series. Retical is easy to change and adjust from 1x to 6x. Easy to follow instructions are included as well as a multi tool and lens cleaning cloth.

Bushnell 1-6x24 btr1

by Old Graywolf, Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on August 19, 2020
Very well made solid scope with clear glass great eye relief. Reticle is easy to see illuminated or not. Throw lever works great nice and smooth. 1x is nice for two eyes open targeting and 6x works great for identifying those far off targets.I have it mounted a Diamondback AR15 5.56/223 nato with 16 inch barrel.

High value and yet high quality

by Myron, from CA, United States Written on July 23, 2020
The illumination is designed only to retical. Don't expect radioactively. The weight is light among the same class scoops, period! This is a fair statement. Everything is great , yet the eye relief is a bit tight.

Bushnell 1-6 AR

by Tactical Sportsman, from AL, United States Written on April 23, 2020
I mounted this on an AR10 build and am very pleased. Scope adjustments track well. Glass is clear and very minimal distortion at the edges. Reticle is easy to use. Illumination is not radioactive bright, but it is visible during the day. I have yet to test the ballistic marks for calibration at distances. The reticle appears well designed and is easy to pick up.
Pros:
  • Solid build, Clear glass, good price
Cons:
  • A little heavier than an expensive model, but lighter than others in this price range
