Flashy at first, GTG 1800 rds later

As I ordered ammo and this BCG, a backorder of 6 weeks later, the BCG wss finally in my newly built upper.

This upper was built for CQ drills with increased volumes of fire, and as a back up to my DDM4V7 upper. My build has a Wilson Combat .223 Wylde 16" barrel mounted onto a BCM receiver, shrouded by a Ripcord Industries handguard and an A2 flash hider.

This BCG hopped into the build, went through about 500 rounds each month since February. This month, I reached about 1800 rounds and I felt compelled to relay its merits.

The finish on the bolt carrier's rails left at around 700 rounds. The bolt lugs have lost their finish for the most part. Besides that? It's been absolutely solid. Yes. Nickel Boron, Diamond-Like Carbon, and Titanium Nitride are absolute market fodder. Their necessity on duty builds is arguable. If you want a solid BCG, go for Daniel Defense, or Toolcraft.

Otherwise, Andro Corps is an absolute solid BCG.

Better than the SE; worth the sale price.

This is arguably the best optic for entry LPVOs, apart from the the SIG MSR 1-6x.

At $400, it is inching towards the Viper PST in price although this optic is not bad for the price. On sale, it is a hard LPVO to beat. I bought this to replace my SE 1-6x after it literally broke apart TWICE and RMA'd TWICE in a spare NF mount on my SIG 716i Tread. Don't get any Strike Eagle products unless they're going on a PCC, or .22LR build.

If you don't know if you want an LPVO, this is a great entry-level option. The fish-eye is absolute trash although that's kind of the inherent caveat all optics made in China will bring. Actually daylight bright reticle.

Little chromatic aberration and the 1x is an actual 1x.

The throw lever is STIFF.

The diopter requires adjustment ever so slightly between magnification. Just set it and leave it.

I ended up getting 2 high-tier LPVOs and giving this one to a friend to try out. As I said, a great entry-level product to see if you want to get a mid, or premium, product down the road.

Grab it on sale, get the SIG MSR 1-6x, or just save for a Viper PST 1-6x Gen II.

18k rounds later and runs like a champ

Written on Nov 25, 2022

Replaced a factory DDM4V7 BCG after a bolt lug sheered off and the gas key fell out of my DD's factory BCG. Got that RMA'd and ordered this over a year ago. Thought I'd review after a beating

Handled 12k rounds of suppressed-only, overgassed use without issues. Failures occurred at 3k rounds which was phenomenal to me

Lube it every 1.5k and its GTG

After 12k rounds of 55gr, it is definitely a solid BCG

Written on Nov 25, 2022

I swapped this bolt on a full auto DDM4V7 that is suppressed by an RC2. The original DDM4V7 bolt had a lug sheer off after about 28K rounds of 55gr were sent. I also noticed the gas key came loose.

I decided to shop around and grabbed this bolt as well as a bolt by Sharps. The BCG has been running 12k rounds strong with only finish wear. First jam was at 4k rounds and my chamber and bolt were filthy. I literally spewed some frog lube and it was GTG for another 4.5k rounds before the buildup affected the operation.

I didn't care about this matching an FDE build or anything. It just runs

The ONLY MRO model worth considering

Written on Aug 25, 2022

This absolutely beats the MRO and MRO HD.

A red dot analog of the ACOG series; robust and effective. This is a competitor to the Comp4/Comp4S. The MRO Patrol has endured 6K on my SIG 716i. An underrated and overdue model in the MRO family. Quite honestly, the only model worth looking at.
