it does work great, gets confused when you wander around a mall for instance then go to find your car, but i think you just need to stand outside the building for a couple minutes. Wandering around the bike rally however it was dead on; so if go for a hike it works well. remember Bushnell sells "better"ones, it depends what you are using it for {excursions, geocache etc.}
