I wanted a spotting scope that could do double duty for hunting in Alaska and for long range rifle shooting. My requirements were lighter in weight (so mid-range magnification), ruggedness, and a very useful reticle. This scope nailed those requirements.
Upon receiving the scope, I was very impressed with the rubberized rugged feel of the brown coating. You won't be dropping it easily. The optic comes with a front lens cap that is tethered to the optic. There is no rear lens cover. The glass is very clear for the price point. The magnification ring is easy to turn and has a different shape from the focus ring so you can easily tell them apart by feel while using the scope. The H32 reticle is offset towards the bottom so that it's unobtrusive while trying to look at specific objects in the field. When you want it to call correction, you simply move the optic slightly to bring the reticle on target. I find this to be a handy feature that lets me use the optic for both of my purposes. The reticle is FFP so it slides out of view as you increase to full magnification, but is accurate at all magnification levels.
Using the scope at the range, I'm easily able to see 22 and 30 caliber hits at 300m on paper (max distance of the range nearest my house). I have yet to take it to the 1000 yard range to test, but I did use it glassing for moose at over 1000 yards to good effect on a late August cow moose hunt. At one point, I was able to glass and easily identify sandhill...
