I live in Seattle and do a lot of whale watching. I was super excited to purchase these binoculars, because my family has a long history with Bushnell products. I really liked them and they did work well at first. After about 6 months of regular use the eye piece completely fell off. It was almost laughable. It literally fell off. When the eye piece fell off there was visible glue where the eye piece and the body of the binoculars connected. I figured the glue came loose (maybe not as waterproof as they suggest) and it would be an easy repair. Bushnell unfortunately and disappointingly voided my warranty because they claimed I dropped them. Not only did I not drop them, but I took meticulous care of them. It cost me $20 to ship them to and from the repair shop, so in total these binoculars cost me about $100 for only 6 months of use. Not a very good deal. The quality is so poor that after 6 months of regular usage they may just completely fall apart which will be so damaging that it's equivalent to being dropped! I would sincerely suggest that you not purchase this item, nor any other Bushnell product.
