Bought one, tested it, bought a second unit.
I have been looking into NV, but have not liked what I have seen for the cost. With this unit being 299.00 for gen1 I figured I would at least try it. I am very happy with it, and have bought a second unit (of coarse I got 5% off on the second with the code opticsplanet sent with the first unit).
Pros: Works like you would expect it to.
Cons: IR illumitator is visible red in color when it is turned on.
Good Toy
So if you are looking for a first gen night vision optic this toy works great. I was worried that using a NV monacle would cause headaches because the two eyes are trying to process two different pictures but actually it was no problem. This toy has a 1x magnification that can be aligned perfectly to the eye with a clear picture so that the brain recieves two images that align so well it does not cause headaches. Cheaper than NV goggles and works just as well. The only real con to it is that it does not adapt for use on the left eye... Right eye only. The companies shipping department took good care of me and got my toy to me within about 7 days.
.
Pros: Great head harness system, good optics clear picture
Cons: first gen NV optics need IR light to be of any use.

Review for Bushnell Night Vision 1x20 Tactical Monocular Goggle Scope w/ Headgear
I was in the military and I have a lot of experience with night vision equipment, and this setup is close to the quality of the military grade NVG's only at less than a quarter of the price. I would recommend these to anyone for nearly any purpose requiring night vision!
Pros: Great fit, very light , compact and at an awesome price!
Cons: None at this time

Liked it
I bought this monocular just to play around with, and overall I am very pleased with it. In medium light ( full moon or urban environment ) it works very good. In low light ( can't see anything with the naked eye ) it is almost useless, unless you have the infrared illuminator on, in witch case it works like a champ. The illuminator is fantastic, but it gives your position away, when it is pointed at you it is about as bright as a "check engine" light. The only thing I was disappointed with on this unit was the headgear, it is sturdy and well built, but it lacks the necessary adjustments. With gen 1 optics, it is critical that you are looking directly through the center of the monocular, and the provided head gear needed a lot of modifications to get it to line up with my head.
Pros: Cost
Cons: Headgear lacks the necessary adjustments.
