Seems okay
Rugged and easy to use, and works okay for a gen 1 NV. Two things I don't like are when it's really dark, the power and IR indicator LEDs are quite bright and right in your face. The IR LED is fairly high bandwidth, meaning you can be seen in the dark by the red glow from the illuminator. A lower band IR not visible to the eye should have been used is all.

A minor issue but not too serious a drawback is not sure if it's really waterproof. The battery compartment gasket came loose when i opened it. I'm tempted to re-glue it in place with black silicon. At this early stage seems like a good product. So far tested it in back yard before I go out in woods.

likely did not need waterproof feature but is good if you are hiking, camping, or boating ... better to spend a few more dollars for waterproof unit than risk destroying the unit because of water damage
