Most Helpful Positive Review Worth every Penny!
This is the one to get if you have a bow and use a treestand. There is no limitation if you are in bow mode to the distance it will range. (Note: Leupold's will only range out to 60 yards when in bow mode) This unit also can still calcuate at extreme angles. The manual says 60 degrees which i...

Most Helpful Negative Review Didn't work as advertised
This is what they don't tell you online that's printed on the back of the box. Reflective 5 - 1000 Tree 5 - 650 Deer 5 - 325 I took this to Piru range 12/04 to test out as they have marked distances up to 1000 yards and this worked up to 600. It would not give a reading beyond that even when...

Will do everything you could need!

by Geno, from WI, United States Written on November 28, 2015
This is a very good set up! will do all that is advertised, I have read the reviews where people say that it won't range out all that far. I have found that if you use a steady rest before ranging you can get all you want from this unit. I have seen 1080 on my screen, again it is the rest you use. If you take a laser pointer and free hand that on a wall you will see how un steady you actually are. Now use a rest and you can hold a spot. out several hundred yards that tiny dot will be moving in feet so it can't range. Do Not Blame a unit like this when the operator must use it properly

Great Range Finder at excellent price

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on July 8, 2013
Great range finder that offers hunters the flexibility to use with multiple different hunt types (archery and rifle). Even has a setting to compensate for hand loads. Optics planet beat all other vendors on price and service. For optics I buy from no one else.
Pros: Easy to use, flexible features

Very pleased I stepped up to the 1000 model; additional options, magnification, distance and brightness well worth a few extra bucks. And saved $20 of those through Optics Planet

Bushnell Scout 1000 ARC - ex Demo model

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on January 12, 2013
Great unit, having used a cheaper and less-ranged rangefinder previously. Standing on my deck I can range 623 metres on a tree, while standing. Compact size, not heavy in my opinion. Only quirk I found, (perhaps being a demo model/refurbished as on box) is the focus ring is almost out of adjustment to reach focus for my eye, and I have OK vision. I like the modes, ie scan - updates range as you move it without the need to repress button. Change from yard to metres etc.
Pros: Ability to change from imperial / metric measurements, x5 optical zoom, built in ballistic/angle adjustment, compact, included belt pouch, range, different ranging modes-scan etc
Cons: Manual/guide not included in box, my rifle ballistics not in unit, no lanyard included
Would recommend: Yes

330 yards max

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on December 23, 2012
Good if you need a range finder for less than 300 yards. I can't get a reading even off of a flat rock face in the mountains.
Pros: easy to use and small
Cons: only works to 330 yards
