Most Helpful Positive Review Bushnell XLT 6-18x50 riflescope
I purchased a Trophy 6-18 several years ago and love it. I recently bought the Trophy XLT and so far it has met and exceeded my expectations. Great features and excellent cost to quality. Optics planet is the best to deal with too. Pros: Great scope for distance shooting Cons: Adds a bit of weigh...

Most Helpful Negative Review I would spend more money
I should probably send this back, but you get what you pay for. The scope zeroed easy, 6 shots after laser bore zeroed. The glass is ok, not Nikon, but not bad, the turrets are resetable, the elevation did no problem, the windage has a stuck set screw, and I screwed it up. The windage and elevati...

Not enough eye relief

by stevbullock, from GA, United States Written on June 6, 2015
I bought my Trophy XLT 6-18 from Opticsplanet on recommendation of a friend who said the Trophy XLT was a great scope. Well, it's not so great if you wear glasses. The eye relief is advertised at 3.5 inches. However in reality it is more like 2. I received a nice little cut on my forehead when I first shot it on my Savage .300 win mag. After that I was a little more conscious of sight picture and my forehead. The light transmission is not the best or even what I thought it would be. It fades-out near the edges and I can never seem to get it in sharp focus no matter the power or distance to the target. The lens caps were clearly intended for a higher mount than that which I first mounted on the gun. Got out my dremel grinder and trimmed off the excess on the front cap so it fits now. I'm a retired field artillery officer and I know what I'm talking about. I would not stake my life on the Trophy XLT.
Pros:
  • Price
  • Pretty out of the box
  • Included lens caps
Cons:
  • Short eye relief
  • Sharpness of focus
  • Had to mod the included lens caps
Best Used for:
  • Watching the stars

Is it as good as old 6-18x40 Trophy?

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on June 22, 2010
This scope has a 50mm objective, not 40mm as advertised. Has normal distance markings on objective ring, not RMS markings like old Trophy. You will require a jewellers screwdriver to re-zero cross-hair knobs once scope is sighted in. Has 1/4 MOA adjustments. Elevation numbers in reverse like old Trophy. I think Bushnell have not improved on the old Trophy, but this is no worse either.
Pros: Nice reticle, 50mm objective, smooth operation
Cons: Requires screwdriver to re-zero knobs. No RMS markings
