Most Helpful Positive Review Great Eye Piece Flip up Cover for Nikon P223 Scope
My size 19 eye piece cover fits like a glove on my Nikon P223 3x9 scope could not me happier. The objective lens is a harder fit. I went with the size 30, I may have to sand it down a little, but I wanted a tighter fit rather than a loose fit. The Nikon p223 objective lens fall right between the ...

Most Helpful Negative Review flip up scope cover
I bought 3 Bushnell scopes in the last year. All came with the flip up scope covers. They ALL broke off like they were made of candle wax. The one on my Encore ML broke off on the first hunt sitting on my stand. Pros: none Cons: breaks too easily

Searching for a special use??

by Jonesy, Verified Owner from MT, United States Written on October 15, 2025
I was looking for a lens cover for a pro-tac Streamlight m-loc rail light for my AR and after measuring its dia. found a flip-up lens cover from the meriad of covers offered by Optics Planet and this one although rather obscure seemed like it may do the job. They didnt have it in stock but I ordered it any way. After a couple weeks it came back "into stock" and you fowarded it to me express through UPS!! Thats service!! It did fit almost perfectly. I had looked everywhere for something to accomplish this and through your fantastically huge inventory was the perfect jury-rig !! This is why I always go to Optics Planet first So if tou are looking for protection from lead build-up for your lights lens this could work!!Remember though measure twice order once and "OP" will pull through through!!!!Thanks

Size 34 (53.3mm) fits perfectly on the objective lens (front) of the Vortex Venom 3-15x44. For the matching occular lens (rear) cover, you will want to buy cover size 20 (45.1mm).

Scope accessory that works well

by David, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on December 17, 2024
Twice recently I have lost a scope eyepiece cover in the field because the OEM part fits too loosely.
This flip-open objective scope cover fits snugly and appears to be sturdy.

Cheap and effective

by deskjockeySid, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on October 26, 2024
This is a cheap simple objective cover. It is pretty cheap so, construction is pretty simple and basic. Whether its thin material construction holds up or not is an open issue but, for something this cheap I would say the quality is consistent with expectations.
Pros:
  • works
Cons:
  • Flimsy
Best Used for:
  • rifle scope

Flip up lens cap that works

by WG, Verified Owner from MA, United States Written on June 22, 2024
It’s a flip up plastic lens cap, not something I’d ordinarily take the time to review. I’ve used and purchased many over time. Most sold by the scope manufacturers thinking they would fit better, hold up longer or be less irritating. Unlike those others, this actually fits more snug, no wobble, doesn’t shift and opens smoothly and quietly. I’ve had others made of similar plastic and rubber. None I have really liked.

Bought this to replace the incredibly poor covers that came with my Trijicon Credo. It fits more like a cover should. Opens when I want. Stays closed when I want. It offers some protection for the glass. Paid less than $10 so right now if it lasts a bargain.

Great caps if you're looking for something slim and light. Not heavy duty.

by Mark D, Verified Owner from OR, United States Written on March 19, 2024
I really like these scope cap covers. Originally got a set for my Bushnell Match Pro and found out Butler Creek made them (owned by the same company). They're nice and low profile, easy to open, and lightweight. I don't need anything that hardcore because I'm not using them for hunting or anywhere the scope and rifle will get super dirty. Just need to offer basic protection and keep dust off. For that they work great and look nice (not bulky like some).

If you are trying to protect a scope while hunting and trekking through the wilderness I might suggest going with something a bit more hardcore. But for a range, competition, or plinking gun these are great.
Pros:
  • Lightweight
  • cost
  • fitment
Cons:
  • slightly flimsy
  • don't fold back flat
Best Used for:
  • range rifles

A little effort required to pick the right size, but well worth it!
