The anodizing is missing on a section of the handguard. They missed a chunk of it. I’d post a photo if I could, and I’ll definitely be emailing Optics Planet and Centurion. I’ve never seen such a pathetic QC miss from a supposedly decent company.

This is a really high quality piece, but you need to remove the gas key for a regular(DI) AR every time you want to break down and clean the BCG. It was meant for piston guns that don’t require as much regular cleaning maintenance of the BCG. Basically, if you have a piston gun, this is a great drop-in piece, but if you have an AR with the DI mechanism, you’ll have more work ahead of you to clean. I recommend getting THEIR improved gas key and can pin set for a DI AR. Otherwise, this is a fantastic product with amazing materials and build quality. It really improves the feel of the action. It feels smoother!

This does not fit the Rmsc footprint b/c of the recoil pins/lugs present in that format and it’s slightly bigger in size. The industry is trending towards the Rmsc footprint as standard. Very few firearms (if any) are milled for this from the factory, so you’ll have to spend more on an adapter plate or a custom milling job. The plate is cheaper, but will sit your optic high on your gun (which could be more uncomfortable in the concealed carry role this optic was designed for). Basically, trijicon tried and failed to get their custom footprint to become industry standard. This is a FABULOUS optic from a reputable company, but there are so many better (durable enough) options in todays market (most of which are half the price or less) that will mount directly with no fuss or additional cost to a concealed carry micro-style firearm with the industry standard Rmsc footprint. (Glock 43/x, sigp365/x/xl, etc.) This optic is a solution looking for a problem b/c of its proprietary footprint that fits no concealed carry firearm.

This seems to be good ammunition that works well. I’ve had no malfunctions of any kind. I do clean regularly however, so I don’t know if this stuff handles build-up well or not. It’s good target ammunition that does simulate my 147 grain HST carry ammo pretty well, so if you’re like me and want to shoot target rounds that are of a similar grain and recoil to your carry rounds, these will definitely work well for you.
