Dangerously Unreliable
Written on Dec 01, 2021
I won’t lie and say I had high expectations for this product. It was $13, so I said “what the heck”.
First, no assembly instructions included. It was easy enough to figure it out on my own, but come on, is it really too much to ask for a diagram and a couple lines of print? Make an effort, Strike.
Second, amateur design. A lock plate? With a cheap screw? For the price, I could’ve overlooked the lack of engineering expertise, had it not lead directly to my next problem.
Third, careful not to accidentally destroy it before you ever get to use it. The screw that retains the lock plate screws into a tiny lug that is somehow molded into the cheap plastic. Ever so slightly over tighten the screw or misalign it with the hole in the lock plate and the screw will push the lug right out of plastic. I noticed this happening almost immediately the first time I assembled it. I backed the screw out and tapped the lug back in flush with the plastic, but I’ll wager that loose lug is going to cause the product to fail much sooner than I’m sure the manufacturer meant for it to.
Nail in the coffin, the follower gets hung up constantly which, of course, stops rounds from being fed. If my gun is the only thing standing between my family and certain death, RELIABILITY is IMPERATIVE. Manufacturing and selling unreliable firearm components is not only irresponsible, it’s NEGLIGENT!
Get your sh*t together STRIKE!
