Alright so the scope is of Leupold quality and very lite when compared to other brands. I was back and forth between Leupold and Vortex for a couple of days before ordering this specific scope. The eye relief at least for me is a solid four inches so it works nice for those of us that run a full stock or adjustable at max length to keep your cheek on the wield. I went back and forth on researching the advantages of a 1in tube vs 30mm and after receiving this scope in 30mm I realized my favorite Nikon scope was a 1 inch. Unless you are shooting long distance or have a rifle with mis aligned rails I would suggest going with the 1 inch scope tube. The 1 inch tubes are always cheaper, lighter, and look better while offering more options for rails and front lens sizes.
When building for light weight the only carrier I found that was lighter than this one is from V Seven however in todays stocking crisis I couldn't find one. I emailed JP Enterprises and ask about ship times they recommended coming to Optics Planet as they had orders in already being filled. The carrier shipped way faster than the expected ship date (2 months faster). The part numbers are a little confusing when trying to order the complete BCG with bolt and firing pin so pay attention. That being I said I reached out to support via chat and as always the representative was very knowledgeable and made sure I ordered exactly what I was looking for.
I started out building this AR-10 for a light weight platform. The stock feels nice and sturdy which was a worry of mine given the shape and weight of the item. Fits nice on the mil spec buffer tubes with very little play compared to most adjustable stocks.
This kit has everything you can possibly need to build an AR with the exception of long handled Allen wrenches. Once the kit arrived i was able to quickly and efficiently build out multiple platforms. The weapon mat is a good size and helps to save the kitchen table or any other surface you may be working on.
