I have 4 or 5 of these. I have gone out of my way to sell other models just so I can buy this one. If you run an A5/Intermediate buffer tube, this is the stock to get IMO. Great fit on mil-spec tubes, easy adjustments, and love that cheek weld. Pretty light piece too given the features. Highly recommend.
Was able to purchase a longer stud from KAK Industries to make the catch engage fully on this magazine without it falling out. I didn't have the same issue with Magpul SR25 mags and after some tooling around I was able to make this work reliably. Very nice magazine, definitely a step-up from Magpul mags, and so is the price.
OP had this marked down 20% off. Hard to pass up as they are expensive gas blocks. The instructions from the manufacturer state it's to be installed as a 'press fit'. Mine was loose and required no heat or pressing to install on my CBI CORE barrel. Not sure when the change in tolerances occurred, and they are loose. Haven't tried BCM, and others have stated it fits more snug. Otherwise quality part just disappointing on fitment.
At least from what I've tried this will not seat in an Aero Precision M5 lower. I remember reading somewhere on Aero's website that they only recommend Magpul mags. This is a really nice magazine and I can't get it to work with my set-up. Your mileage may vary.
I'm not impressed. The HM3X is pretty good, pretty dang good actually for the price. This is twice as much and not worth it, in my opinion. I tried it behind two different Holosun models and the reticle is smeary (no, I don't have astigmatism). 6x is best left to LPVOs not magnifiers. I will give Holosun a plus for the QD mount and nice finishes. That's all I can really say that's positive about this.
I like the option to add a pic section to the top of a scope mount. The downside is it's only picatinny. It would be awesome if they made rmr footprints, or some other common mounting footprint for red dots. I don't love all the tiny screws it takes to mount 1 red dot to the top (4 in total plus 1 crossbolt). Time to get with the times Warne.
You'll pay almost twice as much and they look and feel top quality. I had the mid-length version and the finish seems to be more durable than other similarly nitrided gas tube. FWIW.
Like the features and the price point. Wasn't super impressed with the eyebox. It felt tight to me - I have a Steiner 1-4 which I know is twice as much and while the FOV is less on that scope the eyebox feels better. Wanted it to work and it just wasn't for me. Your mileage may vary.
I've owned a few Swampfox products. I usually like them and 9 times out of 10 I end up returning them for various reasons. You get a lot for your money - more than other budget brands - and for a bit more money you can find better offerings IMO. To each their own - I still look forward to seeing the new products that Swampfox releases.
Yes, it costs way more than the average gas block and it functions way better than the average gas block. OP usually has certain lengths on sale from time to time. Generally a better price than the manufacturer's website. When I ordered it was out of stock but ~2 weeks or so later they shipped, so worth the wait for a better price and OP had free shipping so it was hard to pass that up.
