Installed this on a 870 20ga express. Gun came factory with the laminate stock and was poorly finished. The stock installed easy with the 2 phillips screws in the pad and one bolt to the receiver. This stock installed was around 3/4”- 1” shorter over all compared from the factory wood. Not a bad thing really, just was noticeable. Mostly because this pad was rounded in to fit the shoulder and the factory recoil pad was flat. The hogue pad is really soft and Im guessing will do a great job sucking up the recoil for sure. The plastic shim in between the stock and receiver fit really nice (I was worried looking at pics). Some people said it had a gap, but my guess is they left in the factory metal stock plate that is removable. It is not needed for this or non-wood stocks. The forend was easy to install once you had the magazine tube out of the way. I used needle nose pliers that are bent at a 90 degree angle. The forend was a bit smaller in length and width than the factory. This feels better in my opinion. The overall package works great and feels like it should have came on the gun factory. Also the rubberized feels great in the hand. Usually aftermarket stuff is a gamble, but this is worth the money.
