Perfect fit and finish for my Steyr rifles -both long and short actions. These are very strong, but, thanks to their size, are much lighter and sit lower than a ``full size'' Picatinny base from aluminum. A nice bonus is that, with no scope attached, they STILL allow the use of the original iron sights on my rifle. Highly recommend.
I really liked it but I encountered a serious problem. This scope has an illuminated reticle for a fast target acquisition and it looks great even at a day light. I really liked it. But then when I incidentally moved the scope quickly (but not ``too quickly'') the reticle sort of lost its integrity and broke into fragments - similar to a poor quality picture on a TV which is not capable to show properly fast sport actions. It was very distractive - I just could not focus on anything else but on this breaking a part reticle. I am not sure - maybe I just got a broken item? No problem when the reticle is not illuminated or the scope is fixed or moving slowly - excellent reticle.
I tried to use it to clean the chamber of my Steyr SBS rifle. Then I could not insert the bolt. The internet research discovered that if you clean the chamber of a Steyr SBS bolt rifle (don't know about the other rifles) with something tight, while rotating it, it can move some ring there and the bolt will stop at about 3/8" before the correct position. Some people asked gunsmith to repair the damage and it took about 4 hours to accomplish that. In my case, I just rotated the thing in reverse order and it took for me 10 seconds to do it right. However, I spent 4 hours to discover what happened to my rifle.
I really like this sight. I does what it is supposed to do. The dot is clearly visible at its lowest brightness even during the daytime, and it sits at perfect level. It is very easy to control. Initially, I tried a higher level of brightness and decided against it. The most difficult part was to adjust the height - at some point I even thought that I might return it. But then I realized that if I replace the stock to one with a cheek piece it will work perfectly. And it does.
