Mag catch out of spec

After reading the other reviews I thought I’d take a chance because the price was right. The good news was the kit was complete, all the pins and springs were included as was the grip screw and lock washer. The bad news was the magazine catch is out of spec, it looks like the part was never finish-machined but just parkerized along with the rest of the parts. Finish is a sort of brown black, doesn’t match the receiver but for my cheap truck gun I don’t care - I guess if rusts I’ll have to replace the hold open (of course I bought a different mag catch already.)

I have several of these, on all different calibers and they work well and hold up to hundred of rounds without problems.

It broke after about 30 rounds

Took to the range for a second day, Five rounds was grouped tight but offset. Pulled the windage cap and the adjustment just spins free. Removed from the rifle and gently shook it and something is rattling inside. Might be good for a lighter round but 458 killed it after about 30 rounds total. I get to experience their lifetime warranty now.

Just received this and mounted to my rifle. First impressions were solid mounting base and nice reticle, good levels of illumination from barely on to eye-strain bright. Second look, I noticed the horizontal is not level but rotated CCW about 3 degrees based on rifle in a vise and rail level (with a bubble level.) Have to get my bore sighter out but based on iron sights the crosshair sits pretty close while the “laser” is about 30” high and at least that far to the left at 25 feet…didn’t see any way to adjust the laser point of aim either. Have to see what happens the first time I drop hammer on the .458 to see if the scope going back on not.
